Ways our Repair Cafe allows you to contribute to a sustainable circular economy! You’ll be able to:

  • donate dried goods for the Exchange

  • participate in a swap table (mostly clothes and housewares), with excess going to Evolve and/or Angelcare and/or Renewed Hope

  • donate or buy books from the Friends of the Caledon Public Library

  • donate empty metal & aluminum cans, alcohol bottles, and ‘anything with a plug’ that doesn't work to Harold Janes' Little Grey Work Horse; the funds these items generate are always returned to the community

  • get up to two knives sharpened

  • digitize up to two printed photos, with the Bolton Historical Society - don’t forget your usb;

  • check out OPP and Bike Brampton, a one-stop shop where residents learn how to keep their bikes in top shape while ensuring they are riding responsibly and legally on our trails and roads.

  • have your bike get a maintenance check by our bike Fixers

  • ask our local garden whisperer, Ms Plants, about your backyard projects

  • stop by our ‘Ask the Expert’ booth to enquire about Repairs you can’t carry in: plumbing, mechanic, insulation, making the “switch” from fossil fuel to electric options, etc.

  • a lesson on traffic and transit alternatives from some Stop the 413 advocates

  • stop by the Caledon Community Road Safety Advocacy Group (CCRSA) to learn how they’re working to protect our community’s roads from unsafe driving habits

  • check out the Headwaters Turtle Protectors and learn how you can keep Caledon’s turtles safe

  • learn about local aggregate issues from the Forks of the Credit Preservation Society

  • stop by to chat with the Caledon Public Library to learn how 3D printers can solve some repair issues by reprinting the broken parts; or borrow ‘how to’ books, or items from their ‘library of things’ collections
