SUSTAINABILITY 101

Sustainability 101 is dedicated to raising environmental awareness and building knowledge across the Caledon community. Through accessible education and engagement, the group helps residents understand the environmental challenges we face—locally and globally—and how our everyday choices can make a meaningful difference. By providing workshops and resources on a wide range of sustainability topics, Sustainability 101 empowers individuals to take informed, positive action for the health of our planet.     TAKE 5 FOR THE PLANET

    Take 5 for the Planet empowers Caledon youth to take meaningful climate action through a series of five cross-curricular lessons. Designed to inspire environmental stewardship, the program combines hands-on, thought-provoking activities with practical tools and knowledge. By helping students understand their impact and potential, Take 5 fosters confidence and real-world change in the face of the climate crisis.

    PAINT A PICTURE FOR CLEAN AIR

    Paint a Picture for Clean Air is a creative initiative that raises awareness about the harmful effects of vehicle idling and the environmental benefits of turning engines off. Through colourful and impactful artwork, students illustrate the importance of clean air and climate-friendly choices. These posters are proudly displayed in store windows across Caledon, spreading the message throughout the community and inspiring drivers to take simple actions for a healthier, greener future.

    WALK THE TALK WORKSHOPS

    Walk the Talk is a series of workshops and webinars designed to educate and empower Caledon residents to take meaningful environmental action. Covering a range of topics—from climate change and waste reduction to sustainable living—these sessions provide practical tools, local insights, and actionable steps. Walk the Talk helps turn awareness into impact, encouraging participants to lead by example and create positive change in their everyday lives.

    CALEDON CARES ENVIRO CHALLENGE

    The Caledon Cares Enviro Challenge is a community-wide initiative that encourages Caledon residents, employees, businesses, and organizations to take meaningful actions to reduce their environmental impact. Through themed challenges focused on food, transportation, energy use, and climate resilience, participants explore practical ways to live more sustainably in their daily lives.

    ECOCALEDON GREEN FUTURE BURSARY

    Are you passionate about protecting the planet and making a difference in your community?

    The ecoCaledon Green Future Bursary celebrates a graduating high school student who has shown leadership, initiative, and action in the area of environmental sustainability. Whether you’ve taken part in school green teams, led local cleanups, started a climate club, or simply inspired others to live more sustainably—we want to hear your story.

    This bursary supports students who:

    - Demonstrate a commitment to environmental or climate action

    - Make a positive impact through projects, volunteering, or advocacy

    - Plan to continue making a difference through education, career, or lifestyle
