SUSTAINABLE CALEDON

Sustainable Caledon leads ecoCaledon’s environmental advocacy efforts, working to inspire positive change through education, policy engagement, and community action. The group supports conservation initiatives, promotes sustainable land use practices, and actively opposes environmentally harmful development. By fostering a deeper understanding of environmental issues and advocating for responsible stewardship of our natural resources, Sustainable Caledon is committed to protecting the planet for current and future generations.

    SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

The Sustainable Development Project promotes responsible growth in Caledon that supports a healthy environment, strong communities, and long-term economic well-being. Rooted in principles of stewardship and sustainability, the project encourages development practices that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, conserve resources, and respect the balance between people and nature. By raising awareness and supporting informed decision-making, this initiative helps ensure that development in Caledon meets the needs of the present without compromising the future.

    RAIN BARREL PROGRAM

ecoCaledon’s Rain Barrel Program encourages residents to conserve water and reduce runoff by collecting and reusing rainwater. Using rain barrels helps lower water bills, supports healthier gardens, and reduces strain on stormwater systems—all while promoting sustainable water use. It’s a simple, effective way to make a positive environmental impact right at home.

Rain barrels can be purchased at Davis Feed and Farm Supply. Funds raised from the sale of these barrels goes towards supporting our ecoCaledon Green Future Bursary.

    ELECTRIFY CALEDON

Electrify Caledon events, in collaboration with the Electric Vehicle Society of Caledon, explores the environmental impact of how we move—whether by car, bike, or public transit—and encourages more sustainable transportation choices. In Canada, transportation is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, accounting for one-quarter of the country's total. This project raises awareness about cleaner, greener alternatives like electric vehicles, e-bikes, and battery-powered tools, while highlighting how these choices can reduce emissions, save money, and improve health.
