    REPAIR CAFÉS

Repair Cafés are community events where residents can bring broken household items—like small appliances, clothing, electronics, and more—to be fixed with the help of volunteer repair experts. These events promote a culture of reuse, reduce waste sent to landfill, and empower people with practical skills. By extending the life of everyday items, Repair Cafés support sustainability, save money, and build stronger, more connected communities. Held twice per year (spring and fall).

WHY WALK, WHEN YOU CAN PLALK?

Plalking—picking up litter while walking—is a simple yet powerful way to care for the planet and stay active. Originating in Sweden, this eco-friendly activity helps reduce waste, protect wildlife, and keep our community clean. Whether you're on a stroll through your neighbourhood or a hike on local trails, just bring a bag and tongs and start plalking! It’s an easy, accessible way to combine fitness with environmental action—one step, one piece of litter at a time.

    COMMUNITY WASTE REDUCTION INITIATIVE

The Community Waste Reduction Initiative educates and engages the community in reducing waste through four core initiatives: Waste 101, Spring into Action, Beyond the Blue Bin and Tackling Food Waste. Each initiative includes awareness and targeted actions to help residents and businesses reduce community wide waste generation ultimately creating a lasting impact on the Caledon community.
